Director Rebecca K
Director K believes that Music is magic; it can transform a room, a person, a soul, a heart, and the world, if we let it. Rebecca played and performed through elementary, middle, and high school. Studied elementary music education at Florida College in Temple Terrace, Fl. Then furthered her studies at Missouri Western State University. She has won awards in both piano and vocal performance. Rebecca has also been a part of the cast for several musicals, including Oklahoma and The Music Man. She excels at Audition and solo performance prep, developing techniques to overcome stage fright and creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere for her students to practice and learn.
Rebecca's students have excelled in all areas of performance. Some of the students' recognitions have been parts in musicals such as Pippin, Into the Woods, Little Mermaid, Tom Sawyer, and Hadestown. Multiple Golds and Silvers at the district and State levels, competing in MSHSAA events at the high school level. Several students have gone on to win Blue Star awards at Starlight Theatre in Kansas City, MO. Her students have also performed as a group and solo pieces at several fundraisers and recitals around the city. Rebecca's students will not only learn how to compete but to incorporate a foundation of training in Music Theory as well. Making them known for precision and accuracy as well as entertainment.
